From as far back as I can remember, I've had this thing for writing. Whether it was jotting down short stories, pouring my heart out in diaries, or scribbling random notes, writing has always been something I love.
It all started with a diary, you know, the one filled with the typical 5th-grade drama like who snubbed who on the beta club trip or how my sister wouldn't share her clothes. Oh, and let's not forget the endless rants about petty arguments with my bestie. Classic stuff. But then, something shifted, and I found myself journaling daily devotionals. Writing about what those words meant to me, how they spoke to my soul, and how they fit into my life's journey.
Fast forward to 10th grade when I thought, "Hey, let's start a blog!" Yeah, that fizzled out pretty quick. Life got busy, high school happened, and my poor little blog got lost in the shuffle. I mean, I literally forgot about it. Until one day, roughly 3 weeks ago, while shampooing my hair of all things, the name of my old blog randomly popped into my head – "Karsyn's Notes." Cue the giggles and the internal monologue of "Seriously, what were you thinking?"
But here's where it gets interesting. Right around the time of this bizarre hair-washing revelation, I'd been praying for God to use me. And then, out of nowhere, my forgotten blog resurfaces. Coincidence? I think not. Suddenly, I'm filled with this overwhelming sense that God's calling me back to blogging. But this time, it's different. This time, it's not just me doing my thing; it's a partnership with God. Only its not a partnership, its God driven, God lead, and God centered. I am literally just the fingers clicking on the keyboard.
So, here we are – "Blossom Notes." It's not about perfection; it's about growth. Like Paul said in Romans 7:19, "For I do not do the good that I want to do, but the evil that I don’t want to do, I do.” Sound familiar? Yep. Me too. Paul is me, and I am Paul. But guess what? That's okay. Because growth happens when we embrace our imperfections and lean into God's grace. God's not looking for perfect people; He's looking for willing hearts. And let's be real – if He only accepted perfect specimens, heaven would be a pretty lonely place.
So, if you're like me and forget that God loves us as we are, then you are in the right place.
If you’re like me and forget to show yourself grace, then you are in the right place.
And if you’re like my good friend Paul and I and do the exact opposite of what you want to do, then join the club because you’re just like everyone else and you’re in the right place.
- Jeremiah 1:5
“I CHOSE YOU before I formed you in the womb. I SET YOU APART before you were born. I APPOINTED YOU a prophet to the nations.”
- Romans 6:14
“For SIN WILL NOT RULE OVER YOU, because you are not under the law but UNDER GRACE.”
*Our sin does not define our salvation and nor does it define us*
